LEARNING TO MAKE BETTER DECISION

When we make decision, then they (decision) turn around and make us. And sometimes they break us. Along the road of life, you make many decisions. The decisions you have made will range from the trivial to crucial.
Samson was a man who was heavily anointed by God but had his anointing destroyed by wrong choice. Samson was to be different from the average Jew, in behavior and conduct because of God's special seal upon his life. How like every born again Child of God; Our continued sonship and relationship with God are dependent upon unbroken fellowship with Him. The moment a believer begin to compromise with the world to do anything unbiblical, he begins to lose his relationship with God.
Individuals and whole nations feared samson but unfortunately, he was not wise enough to know that God's spirit in Him could be grieved. Those who lay claim to God's call upon their lives should pause and learn from the life of this man.
There are many lessons to learn from Samson decision. First, Samson lacked the disciplined expected of someone with his call and ministry; However many Christians and ministers are found wanting in this regards nowadays. They do not know that their success in service is wholly hinged on discipline and watchfulness.
Secondly, he had no counselor or adviser. He was a lone ranger. He lived alone, planned his life alone, and went to battle alone. No matter how great or powerful a person is, there would be times he would need someone else's timely counsel and advice.
Third, there were three strange women in his life. There is danger when a child of God fails to see God's perfect choice for marriage among the people of God. When a brother or Sister begins to find fault with all the Christian sisters/brothers in his church and he/she is ready to marry the other lady/boy from anywhere even though the other partner is not born again. The scripture warns us not to be “…unequally yoked together with unbeliever…”
2 Corinthians 6:14-16. How can you harbor your enemy's property and not expect a visit from him? Therefore do away with sin. “Can a man take fire in his bosom, and not be burned?”(Proverbs 6:27).
Forth, Samson was prayerless. There is no record of where Samson prays apart from the only and final prayer that ended his life and those of his enemies. There is no level we can reach in our Christian experiences that we would not need the all sustaining power of prayer.
What are the implications of Samson's romance with strange women or wrong decision?
1.    Because Samson decided to romance with his enemy, he gave them an easy opportunity to hunt him down. Likewise whenever you romance sin you are given an open invitation to the devil and his agent
2.    Because Samson decided to lust after women, instead of fulfilling his divine mission, he lost his peace as he was busy planning vengeance against his enemies. Who knows maybe if He had asked for forgiveness like King David, God might give him another Chance.
3.    Because Samson embarked on a romantic voyage, he was forced to dance before Dagon the god of Philistines. I pray for you that you shall not dance before idols in Jesus name.
Lastly, Samson lost his destiny. He was supposed to deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines but he ended up being captured and killed by the Philistines. I pray for you that your canal desire and lust will not lead you to strange tragic death in Jesus name.
In conclusion, the lesson learn from tragedy of Samson decision can be summarize as follow in accordance with Joshua 13 vs. 2-3
1)     Don't marry an unbeliever
2)    Always listen to godly advise from your Parents and Pastors
3)    Be guided by love, not lust
4)    Be contented with one wife or one husband
5)    Above all your personal relationship with God is not negotiable (that is you must be born again in order to take better decision. God bless you.
